We're finishing 2022 strong with two major announcements!

We recently launched Seeds Assessment 2.0, an updated version of our assessment tool that includes some of the most requested features from advisors, including the ability to determine a client’s risk target as part of the Seeds assessment process. We also made several enhancements to the Seeds advisor portal to provide advisors valuable information on client profiles and progress.

Earlier this month, we also announced the closing of our seed funding round of $2.7 million. The round was led by venture firm Social Leverage, whose leadership team includes Stocktwits co-founder Howard Lindzon. It saw additional participation from The Compound Capital Fund I, LP, the affiliated venture capital fund of Ritholtz Wealth Management, as well as financial industry veterans Ryan Shanks, chief executive officer of FA Match, and Paul Walker, former co-head of technology for Goldman Sachs. DuContra Ventures, the impact fund founded by actor and investor Adrian Grenier, alongside venture capitalist Ba Minuzzi, also joined the round.

Identifying the ‘Hidden’ ESG Investor
We all have values that drive our decisions in life, influencing everything from the food we eat to the relationships we establish. It also overlooks two key realities: (1) Everyone has values that drive their decisions in life and (2) ESG was never supposed to be about saving the world. You can read more in this piece for WealthManagement.com, where Seeds co-founder and CEO Zachary Conway explains how financial advisors can cut through the noise and tap into clients’ underlying values to foster meaningful, long-term relationships.

Lousy Tech is Costing Advisors
With the wealth management landscape increasingly competitive, advisors say that having the right technology tools in their stack makes the difference between leading the way and getting left in the dust. A report released by Weston, Massachusetts-based fintech firm Advisor360° found that most financial advisors believe their tech choices have gotten in the way of their growth. More than half of the advisors reported losing business because their wealth management technology did not meet expectations. You can read more here.

About Seeds Investor

Seeds was founded in 2019 by Zach and Michael Conway, both financial advisors who recognized that—despite burgeoning demand for personalization and a deeper experience around investing—many of their peers lacked the requisite tools and confidence to effectively meet clients’ needs. Since its inception, Seeds has been quietly building out its platform and powerhouse team, adding seasoned veterans from Russell Investments, BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, UBS Wealth Management, and Charles Schwab. With additional wealthtech talent from firms like Farther Finance, Seeds has already onboarded select advisor firms including One Seven, Southern California-based KWB Wealth, and Ohio-based Cunningham Wealth Management.
